We can’t tell you how many times we’ve pulled up to the pump in a rental car and fruitlessly scanned the side mirrors for that telltale finger-bump that lets us know what side the gas tank is on. Well, turns out automakers have a system for this built into the icons, which we just never knew about. And yes, we feel like fools for not knowing/recognizing it sooner:
